Everything You Need to Know About Planning Your Wedding in The Forest

CAN I RESERVE A DATE WHILE I CHECK WITH MY OTHER VENDORS?

If you are not yet sure about your date, you are welcome to book a tentative 'save the date'. Your booking will not be secured until a deposit is paid, however, all reasonable attempts will be made to notify you if anyone else enquires about your date and you will be given priority to book it at that time.

CAN I CHOSE MY OWN VENDORS?

You can choose your own vendors such as celebrant, florists, musicians, photographers, decorators and caterers. We organise portable toilet facilities for you with our preferred provider at an exclusive rate. We ask that all vendors coming onto site provide proof of insurance.

CAN I PROVIDE FOOD FOR OUR GUESTS?

Many couples organise a tasting platter or afternoon tea for their guests to enjoy while the bridal party has photos around the property or for guests to enjoy on arrival. We do not provide catering services but can recommend providers to you. We have a timber table in the Chapel that food and drinks can be served on.

CAN I BRING ALCOHOL?

We are not a licenced venue. Alcohol is not allowed to be consumed on site.

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?

The Forest Chapel holds up well to light rain thanks to the canopy the trees. The aisle is pebbles so drains quickly and is usually dry underfoot. Beautiful photos can be captured in the rain. The Chapel is unsuitable in heavy rain so we do urge you to organise a back-up plan for inclement weather. The decision to move the venue is up to the discretion of the Bride and Groom on the day. While the deposit is non-refundable, the remaining will be refunded to you in the case of wet weather.

HOW DO GUESTS GET TO THE THE FOREST CHAPEL?

We advise to get your guests to and from The Forest Chapel by shuttle or mini bus. We have a local charter company we work with and can organise the transport for you at an exclusive rate.

IS THERE TIME FOR SET UP OR A REHEARSAL?

Your wedding day is reserved exclusively for you, so you have all the time you need for set up and take down. If you wish to hold a rehearsal, please contact us to arrange a suitable time.

ARE THERE BATHROOMS AVAILABLE?

There are no bathrooms in the forest, so we require that portable toilet facilities are organised for the time that your guests are on the property. We organise luxury portable restrooms with our preferred provider to cater for the number of guests at your wedding. The cost of these facilities will be included with your event.

ARE THERE ANY SAFETY REQUIREMENTS?

We endeavour to keep our site naturally beautiful with a rustic feel. Please attend to the signage. The paths are not smoothly paved. Your guests should be advised to wear suitable footwear. This would include discouraging very high and stiletto heel shoes. The beautiful timber bench seats are for sitting only. Please do not allow guests to stand or walk on them and please stay on the paths. More detailed requirements provided upon booking.

CAN WE USE CONFETTI?

The Forest Chapel is in a beautiful, natural environment and home to local wildlife. Keeping it clean is important to us. Paper confetti and similar products are not permitted, however, flower petals, leaves and bubbles may be used.

WHAT NEEDS TO BE PACKED UP?

All rubbish and food scraps must be removed on the day. These are not to be left on site. Please ensure your vendors or another designated person/people clean up any rubbish. If necessary, you may organise to pick up other decorations and equipment the day after.
